A. S. Ørsted lived from 1788 to 1860 and is to be regarded as one of the main characters of the Danish Golden Age. He married his good friend, Adam Oehlenschläger's sister, Sophie Wilhelmine Bertha Oehlenschläger in 1802. He was Denmark's 3rd Prime Minister from 1853-1854. A bust has been placed before the Western High Court in Viborg, as Ørsted is to be regarded as the father of Danish jurisprudence, through his education as a lawyer and his work in the formation of Danish democracy.
The picture is in its original frame and back in parchment so it can hang in a chain around the neck or on the clothes without contaminating.
