Description: Soon it will be 2020, and therefore it’s time for a little reflection. More than three years have passed, since I opened my store in Store Kongensgade in 2016, and time has flown by. I have made many exciting acquaintances in the last couple of years, but my interes for antiquities is far older than Harsted Antik.

When I was young I started to frequent the flee markets in Copenhagen. I soon fell in love with ”the white gold”, better known as porcelain, and especially in the Blue Fluted china from Royal Copenhagen. These sets are still among my greatest passions, and they have a place of honor in my store.

Since the beginning I have specialized in porcelain and glassware. Danish glassware is prominently represented in the store, and at Harsted Antik you can find sets from Holmegaard, Kastrup and Fyens Glasswork.
There is something very special about things, that have a history, and I am grateful to be working with beauty. Every item in my store has been chosen both on the basis of functionality and esthetics.

In the store a meet many people who know a lot about glassware – and at least as many who think, that they do. The world of glassware is coloured by a lot of misconceptions, and I spend a big part of my day discussing the field with a wide range of customers. I enjoy both learning new things and sharing my own knowledge, and because of this I will in the future regularly post little reflections like this one. Maybe these reflections will teach you something new, and maybe they won’t. My hope is that they will both educate and entertain you.
