Rare Holmegaard vase

Description: Height 16 cm.

The vase is signed Holmegaard PL for Pet Lütken 1958.
The vase is a Hellas vase designed by Per Lütken in 1950 for Holmegaard glassworks. It was taken out of production in the mid-1970s. This is cut with a rather unusual and rare engraving, which we have only read about in old Holmegaard catalogs from the 1960s.

The motif depicts an African woman holding a magnifying glass in the left hand and the right up front of the face. She is only wearing a loincloth, neck rings and rings around the left arm.

The vase is in good condition, with some traces of wear.
